Women's soccer unveils 2022 schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Coach Paul Babba on Friday announced the 2022 Bellarmine University women's soccer schedule.

Bellarmine, which will be entering its first season under Babba, is set for an 18-game regular-season slate split evenly between home and away matches. The Knights' eight nonconference contests and their 10 ASUN showdowns are also evenly balanced between games at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium and outings on the road.

Additionally, Bellarmine will host a pair of exhibitions, warming up for the season Aug. 11 against Indiana State (6-7-4 last season) and Aug. 14 against Marshall (3-11-2).

Bellarmine, which went 4-7-8 last season and advanced to the ASUN Tournament semifinals as the West Division's four-seed, will officially open its 2022 campaign by hosting Wright State (5-10-3) on Aug. 18. The Knights will remain at home for an Aug. 21 outing against Southern Illinois (0-15-1).

Bellarmine's next three nonconference games will unfold on the road. The Knights will play Aug. 25 at IUPUI (4-11-3), Aug. 28 at Purdue Fort Wayne (5-8-6) and Sept. 1 at Northern Kentucky (10-8-2).

Bellarmine will welcome Dayton (12-6-2, two-seed Atlantic 10 Tournament) on Sept. 4 and Miami (Ohio), which went 8-8-3 last season, on Sept. 8 before concluding nonconference action Sept. 11 at Chicago State (2-14-1).

Bellarmine will open ASUN play with three home games. The Knights will host Central Arkansas (9-9, 6-3 ASUN, West two-seed) on Sept. 15, North Alabama (2-13-3, 1-7-1) on Sept. 18 and Eastern Kentucky (9-10, 4-5, West three-seed) on Sept. 25.

Bellarmine's first two conference road games will occur Sept. 29 at new league member Austin Peay State (4-10-3) and Oct. 2 at defending ASUN Tournament champion Lipscomb (15-5-1, 7-2, West one-seed). The Knights will follow with their final two home games of the regular season, welcoming Stetson (6-10-2, 3-5-1) on Oct. 6 and FGCU (10-7-1, 7-2, East one-seed) on Oct. 9.

Bellarmine caps the regular season with three conference road games. The Knights will head to Jacksonville State (7-10-2, 3-5-1, West five-seed) on Oct. 13, to Kennesaw State (9-8-2, 4-3-2, East three-seed) on Oct. 16 and to North Florida (9-4-3, 4-3-2) on Oct. 22.
