LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Cole Mattingly has joined the Bellarmine University athletics department as an assistant director of compliance.
Mattingly comes to Bellarmine after serving as an academic services assistant for University of Kentucky Athletics last year.
I'm pleased to welcome Cole to campus as one of our newest Knights," said
Annie Coryell, Bellarmine's associate athletics director for compliance. "His deep Kentucky roots mean that he's already well-versed in the landscape of Bellarmine Athletics and should be able to immediately contribute to our success. I look forward to working with him."
At Bellarmine, his primary responsibilities include seeing that Bellarmine teams comply with NCAA bylaws in recruiting, academic eligibility and national letters of intent and providing guidance to alumni, coaches, staff, student-athletes, prospects and parents regarding institutional, NCAA and ASUN rules through NCAA rules interpretations and rules education programming and literature.
"I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to work at Bellarmine University," Mattingly said. "I've always had a passion for college athletics and wanted to work with them in my career, and I think Bellarmine is a great opportunity. "
Mattingly holds both undergraduate (broadcasting) and graduate (sports administration) degrees from Western Kentucky University, where he also served as a basketball manager.
A native of Bardstown, Kentucky, Mattingly said his familiarity with Bellarmine was a draw to this position. "Being familiar with the university's history and the recent move to Division I, I'm eager to come in and be a part of the future of the Bellarmine Athletics."
