LOUISVILLE, Ky. — In its first year under Head Coach
Chris Dominguez, the Bellarmine University baseball team is set for a 56-game regular-season slate in 2023.
The schedule features 30 ASUN contests comprised of 10 three-game series. Entering its third season in Division I, Bellarmine is slated for 20 games at Knights Field.
After beginning the season with 16 nonconference road games, Bellarmine's home opener is set for March 14 against Evansville. The Knights will also host nonconference midweek games against Eastern Illinois (March 21), Northern Kentucky (March 28), Morehead State (April 11) and Murray State (May 16).
Bellarmine's first ASUN home series is slated for March 24-26 against Jacksonville State. The Knights will host consecutive conference series April 6-8 against Stetson and April 14-16 against North Alabama. They'll also welcome Central Arkansas (April 28-30) and new member Queens (May 12-14) in ASUN home action.
The extended nonconference road stretch to begin the season starts Feb. 17-19 with a three-game series at 2022 NCAA Tournament team New Mexico State. The Knights will follow with a three-game series Feb. 24-26 at former GLVC rival Southern Indiana, and they'll have four-game series with Saturday doubleheaders March 3-5 at Mercer and March 10-12 at Indiana.
Bellarmine will have nonconference midweek road games Feb. 28 at Western Kentucky, March 7 at Northern Kentucky, April 4 at Ball State, April 18 at Morehead State, April 25 at NCAA Tournament team Tennessee, May 2 at NCAA Tournament team Louisville and May 9 at Evansville.
Bellarmine's ASUN road series will start March 17-19 at Eastern Kentucky — which represents its ASUN-opening series — and follow March 31-April 2 at new member Austin Peay State, April 21-23 at Lipscomb, May 5-7 at Jacksonville and May 18-20 at NCAA Tournament team Liberty. The last game against the Flames marks the regular-season finale.
