LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's basketball team rolled to a 95-44 victory over Campbellsville-Harrodsburg on Thursday night in Freedom Hall.
Sophomore forward
Paetynn Gray recorded her second double-double of the season after amassing 20 points and 12 rebounds while adding three blocks and three assists for Bellarmine (4-5). Senior forward
Lucy Robertson hit 7-of-9 shots in tallying a career-high 15 points.
Senior guard
Claire Knies sank seven of her 10 shots in notching 14 points with five assists, junior guard
Hope Sivori distributed six assists and sophomore guard
Jayla Butler registered a career-high six assists. Robertson, sophomore guard
Miyah Brown and senior guard
Mackenzie Keelin corralled six rebounds each.
Bellarmine's 32 assists were a Division I-era program record and five shy of the overall program record. Only nine of the Knights' 41 made field goals went unassisted. Nine players had at least two helpers.
Bellarmine shot a season-high 52.6 percent while outscoring the Pioneers 60-14 in the paint, 29-4 off turnovers and 22-4 on the fast break. The Knights had only six turnovers while racking up 23 takeaways. Butler supplied four steals while Sivori and senior guard
Ashlee Harris had three apiece.
Bellarmine led 30-10 after one quarter and never looked back. The Knights shot 57.9 percent or better in three of the four quarters, setting the tone by hitting 14-of-21 attempts (66.7) in the opening period.
Bellarmine will host Detroit Mercy at 6:30 p.m. (ET) Monday.
