LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine men's tennis took its home court for the third time this spring, and the Knights delivered their third home win.
Bellarmine (3-5) topped IUPUI (1-9) by a final score of 6-1 on Thursday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
Bellarmine fell behind early, as the Jaguars claimed the doubles point – the narrative quickly changed in singles play. BU took all six singles matches on its way to a decisive victory.
Reigning ASUN Player of the Week Matthew Nice topped Tom Ciszewski 6-3, 7-5 at no. 1 singles. Kyle Tang handled rallied against Alex Jochim for a 1-6, 7-6, 6-4 win at no. 2 singles. In the no. 3 slot, Jack Batchelor bested Kamil Kozerski 6-4, 6-4, while Paul Reynolds cruised past Colton Morehart 6-1, 7-5 in the no. 4 position. The Knights wrapped up the win with Eli Wood beating Blessing Benibo 6-2, 6-3 at no. 5 singles, and Xavier Ecarma topping Eli Mercer 6-1, 6-2 at no. 6 singles.
Bellarmine continues its 10-match homestand Sunday with a doubleheader against Indiana Tech (10:00 a.m.) and Campbellsville (3:00 p.m.).
