Men's tennis moves to 5-0 at home with wins over Campbellsville and Indiana Tech

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine men's tennis started its 10-game homestand this week, and the Knights are 3-0 thus far.
 
BU bested Campbellsville 5-2 and Indiana Tech 7-0 on Saturday at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex to push its home record to 5-0 this season.

Bellarmine won five of its six matches on the day, helping them out to strong starts with the doubles point in each team match.
 
In the morning battle against Campbellsville, Kyle Tang defeated Maximiliano Roman 6-2, 6-2 at no. 1 singles.  Jack Batchelor took care of Hernan Toledo 6-4, 6-0 at no. 2 singles, while Vineet Ramesh topped Nicolas Andrade 6-1, 6-2 in the no. 3 singles spot.  Eli Wood had the other singles victory for Bellarmine against Campbellsville, beating Nahuel Hernando 6-2, 7-6. 
 
Against Indiana Tech, Bellarmine swept all six singles matches, starting with a 7-6, 7-6 win for Matthew Nice over Michel Zobel at the no. 1 position.  Paul Reynolds defeated Tyler Sinclair 6-4, 6-2 at no. 2 singles, while Ramesh topped Kayra Kargin 7-5, 6-3 at no. 3 singles.  Wood dropped his first set to Juan Avellaneda at no. 4 singles but battled back for a 6-7, 6-1, 10-7 win.  Xavier Ecarma cruised past Andres Pizzamiglio 6-0, 6-3 at no. 5 singles, while Brent Reynolds beat Jorge Rodriguez 6-0, 5-7, 6-1 at no. 6 singles.

Bellarmine continues its home stretch next weekend on Feb. 25 versus Eastern Illinois (1:00 p.m.) and Feb. 26 versus Belmont (12:00 p.m.).
