LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine wrestling traveled to Toledo, Ohio for the NCWA Great Lakes Conference Championships on Saturday, and the Knights crowned seven champions.

Thadd Huff (285) all claimed first place in their respective weight classes.
The Knights placed second out of nine teams with 132 points on the day, only trailing Grand Valley State who scored 144.5.
"The guys had a lot of fun today with scoring a lot of points in their matches and bonus points for the team," Knights Head Coach
Ned Shuck said. "With us having three weight classes without entries due to injuries and other rules, we needed a lot of pins, techs, and majors. The guys delivered."
Parker defeated Landon Kiser of Toledo by tech fall (21-4, 5:34) in the semi-finals and Tanner Higa of Dubuque WC by tech fall (22-7, 7:00) in the championship of the 125 bracket.
Cowan pinned Neiko Foster of Toledo at the 2:09 mark in the quarterfinals, rolled past Caden Jacobs of Grand Valley State by tech fall (22-4, 5:56) in the semi-finals, and handled Joey Murphy of Grand Valley State by tech fall (24-9, 6:45) in the 149 championship.
Rivera bested Elijah Kidder of GVSU 12-9 by decision in the 157 quarterfinals, battled past Andrew Halko of Akron 7-4 by decision in the semifinals, and conquered Moustapha Bal of Ohio State WC 9-0 by major decision in the championship.
Nance pinned Hamza Sawalha of Akron at the 2:07 mark in the 165 quarterfinals, bested Jake Gooding of Ohio State WC 12-0 by major decision in the semifinals, and pinned Yury Pozdneev of Ohio State WC at the 1:52 mark in the championship.
Hendricks pinned Benjamin Romano of Ohio State WC at the 4:01 mark in the 174 first round, followed by a pin of GVSU's Matthew Morris at the 3:39 mark in the quarterfinals. In the semis, Hendricks defeated Benjamin Blickle of Ohio State WC 7-2 by decision, and won in sudden victory 6-4 over Josh Kenny of GVSU in the championship.
Wyatt battled past Carson Bey 5-2 by decision in the 184 semifinals, and won by decision 10-7 against Graham Carson of Ohio State WC in the championship.
Huff pinned Donovan Litteral of Ferris State (0:52) in the quarterfinals and pinned Franco Fontela of Dubuque WC (1:13) in the semifinals. In the championship match, Huff beat Jacob Meek 6-0 by decision.
William Muckler (third place),
Royce Hall (fifth place),
Michael Schiffhauer (sixth place), and
Kysen Montgomery also competed for Bellarmine on Saturday.
"Walking out of there with seven champs and only losing a couple matches on the day is again another testament to this teams growth and pursuit to wrestle with a dominating style," Shuck added. "We need to get some guys healthy in order to finish this season as strong as possible. These guys Can't Wait for our trip to Puerto Rico, but more importantly for practice on Monday."
Bellarmine will wrap up its season at the NCWA National Championships in San Juan, Puerto Rico March 9-11.
