LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Central Arkansas softball team bested Bellarmine by a final score of 13-0 (5 inn.) on Sunday to sweep the weekend ASUN series.
UCA's Jordan Johnson tossed a no-hitter in the run-rule victory, improving the Bears to 31-8 and 14-1 in league play.
Central Arkansas scored in each of the first four innings with six runs coming in the third frame. Mary Brown led the UCA offense going 3-4, while Jaylee Engelkes went 2-3 with a solo home run.
Bellarmine drew three walks on the day as
Alexis Hargrove,
Chloe Collins, and
Anna Greenwell each reached base.
Claire Lehmkuhler,
Carson Goatley, and
Elli Jensen all saw action for the Knights in the circle.
BU will travel to North Florida next weekend for a three-game series against the Ospreys. Games are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday and 12:00 p.m. on Sunday in Jacksonville.
