LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Hits were hard to come by on Saturday afternoon at Knights Field, but one Kennesaw State hit proved to be the difference in a 2-0 win over the Bellarmine Knights on BU's Senior Day.
Following a Madison Miller walk to lead off the fourth inning, Taylor Cates delivered a two-run home run to put KSU up for good.
Laura Bishop had the only other hit of the day for Kennesaw State, picking up a single right after Cates' homer.
Bellarmine totaled three hits on the day with an infield single from Emily O'Dee in the fourth, Caitlyn Watson single in the fifth, and Anna Greenwell single in the seventh.
BU had the bases loaded in the fourth, but Kennesaw State escaped the jam. The Knights also had two runners on in the fifth and seventh but were unable to capitalize.
Carson Goatley was very strong in the circle, pitching all seven innings, allowing just two runs and two hits.
Kenley Hilleary pitched the first four innings for KSU and earned the win, while Lindsey Kyte pitched the last three and picked up the save.
Alyssa Brock, Anna Greenwell, Alexis Hargrove, and Sydney Young were all honored prior to Saturday's game.
The Knights will play their final home game of the season tomorrow at 12:00 p.m. against the Owls.
