LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Five Bellarmine University baseball players earned Academic All-District Team accolades from the College Sports Communicators.
Receiving the honor for the Knights were senior third baseman/designated hitter
Colin Bertsch, senior right-hander
Matt Craven, senior outfielder
Tommy Dilz, senior right-hander
Nolan Pender and senior shortstop
Brett Pfaadt.
Upon nomination, Bertsch was carrying a 3.59 GPA while majoring in sports administration. The native of Plantation, Florida, has made 49 starts this season and accumulated six homers, seven doubles, 21 runs scored and 23 RBI. He's an ASUN Honor Roll recipient.
Craven had posted a 3.77 GPA upon nomination while earning his MBA. The Louisville native is among the ASUN leaders in saves with five and has struck out 36 batters over 36.1 innings pitched in 21 appearances. He's both a two-time ASUN Honor Roll and two-time Academic All-GLVC recipient.
Dilz touted a 3.71 GPA upon nomination while majoring in business administration. The product of Columbus, Ohio, has appeared in 30 games and is hitting .283 with nine doubles, nine RBI and 14 runs scored. He's a two-time ASUN Honor Roll recipient and a 2020 Academic All-GLVC selection.
Pender sported a 3.79 GPA upon nomination while majoring in exercise science. The Louisville native has collected four wins on the mound while striking out 81 batters in 79.1 innings pitched over 13 starts. The righty earned an ASUN Pitcher of the Week acknowledgement this season and is a two-time ASUN Honor Roll recipient and a 2020 Academic All-GLVC selection.
Pfaadt had recorded a 3.61 GPA upon nomination while majoring in senior living leadership. The Louisville native has started 32 games this season and is among the ASUN's top defensive infielders after committing only two errors while posting a .982 fielding percentage. He's a two-time ASUN Honor Roll recipient and a 2020 Academic All-GLVC selection.
