LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Four players scored in double figures as the Bellarmine University women's basketball team posted an 87-60 victory over Centre in an exhibition Sunday afternoon in Knights Hall.
Bellarmine had a modest 43-33 lead at halftime but really turned it up a notch in the third quarter, when the Knights outscored the Colonels 27-13. It started on the defensive end, with BU scoring 11 points off turnovers in the frame.
Senior guard
Hope Sivori registered a team-high 15 points with five assists for Bellarmine. Junior guard
Miyah Brown tallied a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds while freshman center
Hana Abdel Aal came up just shy of a second for the Knights with 14 points and nine rebounds. Junior guard
Erin Toller added 12 points.
Bellarmine sank 14 3-pointers in the contest. Sivori drilled five of them while Brown, Toller and senior guard
Mia Beam canned two apiece. The Knights were 4-for-8 from deep in the runaway third quarter.
Bellarmine had a 23-2 advantage in points off turnovers. The Knights distributed 20 assists, with senior guard
Ashlee Harris collecting six.
Bellarmine will host Spalding at 6:30 p.m. (ET) Wednesday in its second and final exhibition.
