Knights head into regular season behind 97-46 exhibition win over Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Senior forward Skylar Treadwell posted a double-double while senior guard Hope Sivori poured in 25 points as the Bellarmine University women's basketball team defeated Spalding 97-46 Wednesday evening in an exhibition game in Knights Hall.

Treadwell racked up 16 points and 12 rebounds in Bellarmine's second and final tune-up. Sivori added seven assists and three steals to her 25 points. The Knights had a pair crack 20, as junior guard Erin Toller hit precisely that total behind a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the arc. Senior guard Ashlee Harris supplied 16 points on 5-for-6 shooting.

After taking a 21-17 lead after one quarter, Bellarmine ramped things up on the defensive end in the second period and outscored Spalding 25-12 in the frame. The Knights took a 46-29 advantage into halftime after producing 24 points off turnovers. They finished with 34 points off 25 takeaways, 11 of which were steals, and had a 46-18 superiority in points in the paint.

Bellarmine will open the season by hosting IU Southeast at 6:30 p.m. (ET) Monday in Knights Hall.
