Men's soccer plays to scoreless draw with Queens

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University men's soccer team and Queens played to a scoreless draw Saturday night in Atlantic Sun Conference action at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

Bellarmine (2-4-3, 0-2-1 ASUN) notched its first point in ASUN play while Queens (3-5-2, 1-0-2) remained unbeaten in league competition.

There were a fair amount of shots taken but not much was on target. Bellarmine finished with a 17-12 advantage in shots but the teams combined for only four on frame, with the Knights holding a 3-1 edge there.

The Royals did have an attempt ricochet off the crossbar, and Bellarmine senior goalkeeper Peter Van Euwen knocked away another shot near the top of the pipes.

Bellarmine's defense earned its third clean sheet of the season, but the Knights were also shut out for the third straight ASUN game.

Bellarmine celebrated Alumni Weekend and its 50th Anniversary Reunion.

Bellarmine will host FGCU in an ASUN contest at 7 p.m. (ET) next Saturday.
