LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine University men's basketball head coach Scott Davenport today announced the signings of 2025-26 freshmen Tommy Clark, Sam Donald and Jacob Wassler.

The signings mark the first additions to the Knights' 2025-26 roster.

A 6-foot-3 combo guard, Clark is in his senior season at Kings High School in Kings Mills, Ohio. After averaging 17.5 points as a junior, Clark earned All-State Honorable Mention and was named First Team All-Conference and Second Team Boy's Division I All Southwest Ohio. His three-point consistency and athleticism have helped him establish himself as one of the top guards in the state.

"Tommy is a special player, especially as the game we love continues to evolve," said Davenport. "He is a shooter! What makes him special is his love for the game. I admire his passion to improve to become a complete player. This is very special!"

Donald committed to the Knights out of Columbia High School in Columbia, Ill., just south of St. Louis. As a junior, the 6-foot-8 power forward averaged a team-best 20.9 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He earned First Team Cahokia All-Conference honors and was named Class 2A First Team All-State by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. Donald also made the Maccabi Senior National Team, the only high schooler to do so, and is set to represent the United States in Israel next summer.

"'It starts at home!' This very true quote applies to Sam Donald," said Davenport. "He comes from a knowledgeable basketball family and has grown up all basketball. He was our first commit and he made it very clear he wants to be at Bellarmine. He affects the game with size, skill and knowledge."

Like Clark, Wassler comes to Newburg Road from the Cincinnati area. The 6-foot-11 center is a product of St. Xavier High School. As a junior, he averaged 12 points, 7 rebounds and over 1 block per game and was named First Team All-GLC.

"Great size has always been special in college basketball, but game-changing size with skill is very special!" said Davenport. "Jacob has been coached by former Bellarmine Knight CJ Fleming's brother Ryan Fleming. He comes with the drive and determination we love as coaches."

Clark and Wassler will reconnect at Bellarmine after having already played on the same AAU team, Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB. Donald plays for the Gateway Knights, a St. Louis area AAU program.

"As a group, the three young men we have signed are the result of phenomenal efforts by everyone in our program," Davenport concluded. "All them are quality players and equally as special young men who come from great families and special high school basketball programs."
