Baseball drops series finale at UNC Asheville

ASHEVILLE, NC — UNC Asheville completed a sweep of the Bellarmine University baseball team with a 16-5 victory Sunday at Greenwood Baseball Field.

Bellarmine (1-6) actually outhit UNC Asheville 12-9, but the Bulldogs (3-4) built a 14-1 lead after four innings behind a pair of four-run innings and a five-run frame.

Sophomore left fielder Joey Milto went 3-for-4 with a two-run single. Sophomore third baseman Brady Morse had a pair of hits, including a double and an RBI single, while junior center fielder Jake Agarwal and sophomore shortstop Luke Scales added two hits apiece.

Senior right-hander Nolan Pender struck out three in 2.2 scoreless innings of relief.

Bellarmine will host Oakland at 2:30 p.m. (ET) Wednesday.
