LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University wrestling team closes out its road trip and returns home for a busy weekend of competition. The Knights will first travel to Lexington, Va for a Tri-Meet at Virginia Military Institute where they will take on the Keydets as well as Long Island University on Friday, February 9. Bellarmine will first face off with the Sharks at 1 pm E.T. before their bout with host VMI at 3 pm E.T. Bellarmine will then return to Louisville for a home dual against Campbell University on Sunday, February 11 at Knights Hall.
After taking down Davidson College last Friday night, the Knights (13-1, 3-1) took their first loss of the season at The Citadel on Sunday and will look to bounce back this weekend. The team's win over the Wildcats was their 13
th of the year, marking a new program record for most dual wins in a season. The previous mark of 12 was set during the 2022-23 season.
Long Island will be a short, one match break from Southern Conference action for Bellarmine. The Sharks enter the match 6-6 on the season and are coming off a 20-16 win over Franklin and Marshall last weekend.
VMI is 7-8 this season, 1-3 in SoCon play and are coming off a 32-7 loss at Appalachian State last weekend. The Keydets last win came on Feb. 3 when they topped Presbyterian 46-6. Up to this point in the season, the Knights and Keydets have faced off against and beat two common opponents in Queens University and Presbyterian College.
On Sunday, Feb. 11, Bellarmine returns home from its four-match road trip to host Campbell University at Knights Hall. Campbell (9-3) currently sits atop the SoCon standings at 3-0. The Camels enter the dual red-hot, winning each of their last six duals. The Camels and Knights share common wins over Davidson and Gardner-Webb.

Zac Cowan battled for a 7-6 decision over Davidson's Tyler-Xavier McKnight, the 29
th ranked 149 wrestler in the country. The Knights win streak finally came to an end after a tightly fought contest at The Citadel. Despite a lopsided 27-3 final score, Bellarmine was in every bout. Redshirt freshman
Trayce Eckman (133) was the only BU wrestler to earn a win at The Citadel.
