FORT MYERS, Fla. — FGCU scored eight runs in the first inning in completing a three-game Atlantic Sun Conference sweep of the Bellarmine University baseball team with a 14-3 victory Sunday at Swanson Stadium.
FGCU (9-10, 3-0 ASUN) had six hits in its eight-run opening frame, including a three-run homer by Robert Moya. The Eagles tacked on five more runs in the third and finished with 16 hits.
Sophomore first baseman
Brady Morse paced Bellarmine (1-18, 0-3) with two hits. Senior center fielder
Will Aubel drove in a pair of runs, including an RBI single in the third. Sophomore catcher
Charlie Rife scored a pair of runs.
Senior right-hander
Devin Ecklar and sophomore right-hander
Ben Tedesco tossed 1.1 scoreless innings of relief apiece.
Bellarmine will play at 6 p.m. (ET) Tuesday at Louisville.
