OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – The Bellarmine women's golf team will visit a familiar site for the Atlantic Sun Championship this Sunday through Tuesday. The Knights head down I-65 for their second go-round at the Highlands course at Hampton Cove on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail in northern Alabama.
The Knights played the 6,150-yard, par 72 Highlands course during the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate in early March. Bellarmine finished 11
th out of 15 in their first action of the spring season with
Alaina Schmitt tying for 22
nd among 83 players. Schmitt also shot a plus-5 through three rounds on the same course in March 2022.
Starting for Bellarmine will be Schmitt,
Josephine Bonin,
Rozlyn Rooke,
Matti Spalding and
Jessica Stephens.
Presli Webb will be available as a substitute.
Joining Bellarmine will be the 11 ASUN foes: Austin Peay, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Florida Gulf Cost, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, North Alabama, North Florida, Queens and Stetson. The teams will play three rounds.
This year's ASUN Championship will be the fourth in which the Knights have participated.

The Knights finished second out of five teams their last time out in the Jan Weaver Invitational, a small tune-up event squeezed into the schedule after several rounds in earlier events were cancelled due to weather. Schmitt shot a team-best plus-10 and finished fourth in the 25-player field. Rooke finished eighth at plus-15.
