LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Knights Athletics Association (KAA) welcomed men's and women's golf alumni, KAA members and Valhalla Golf Club co-owner Jimmy Kirchdorfer to the Ernie Denham Indoor Golf Facility recently as part of their Breakfast Series events celebrating Bellarmine's athletic programs.

"Our Breakfast Series showcases the incredible things that our teams are doing," said Audrey Denham, assistant director of the KAA. "These events allow our members to immerse themselves in the program and connect firsthand with our student-athletes, past and present."

Kirchdorfer, a special guest at the event and chairman/CEO of ISCO Industries, addressed the audience, as did Bellarmine's head golf coaches, Art Henry on the women's side and Bruce Brown on the men's side.

"I truly enjoyed the opportunity to speak at the Bellarmine Knights Athletics Association Breakfast Series, especially to speak about one of my true passions – golf," said Kirchdorfer. "The success and progress happening within the Louisville golf community is something I'm very proud of. I am happy to see the progress of the men's and women's golf programs and their contribution to the growth of the game in our community."

Kirchdorfer also discussed the impact of the upcoming PGA Championship at Valhalla.

"With the PGA coming to Valhalla next week, Jim was the perfect person to give insights on what has been happening on the course and what went into Valhalla hosting a major golf tournament," said Henry.

Also present at the event was a new transport van for Bellarmine Golf tournament travel. The van was purchased with funds raised by Bellarmine's Pioneer Golf Program.

"I thought the event went great," said Brown. "With the excitement of the PGA and the arrival of the van, it was great to show off our success. We are getting the tools together to be competitive in a tough golf conference."

The golf breakfast was the second experience assembled by the KAA, following a baseball and softball event in February.

"The first two breakfast gatherings have been superb," said Bellarmine athletics director Scott Wiegandt. "We look forward to the KAA continuing to integrate our student-athlete alumni with our current Bellarmine athletics efforts."

"This event was set up perfectly," Henry added. "It certainly showcased Bellarmine Golf in a very positive fashion. The indoor facility is an amazing tool for our program and was a great location to host Jimmy and our alumni."
