NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Lipscomb scored a pair of goals less than two minutes apart in the second half of a 2-0 win over the Bellarmine University men's soccer team Sunday night in Atlantic Sun Conference play at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
The contest between Bellarmine (2-4-2, 0-2 ASUN) and Lipscomb (3-2-4, 1-0-1) was a rematch of the 2023 ASUN Tournament finals in which the Bisons captured a 1-0 win.
The defenses controlled most of the latest matchup, but Lipscomb broke through in the 77th minute when Tyler Stinnett rocketed in a shot from 25 yards. Javanne Smith then converted off a cross in the 78th minute as the Bisons quickly added an insurance goal.
Lipscomb finished with a 13-9 advantage in shots, but they were even at five apiece on goal.
Due to Bellarmine and Lipscomb's game being postponed a day due to severe weather, the Knights' Tuesday afternoon home match with Purdue Fort Wayne has been canceled.
Bellarmine will host ASUN counterpart Queens at 7 p.m. (ET) Saturday.
