NASHVILLE, Tn. – The Bellarmine University women's tennis team closed out its lengthy season opening road trip in Nashville, TN, falling 4-0 to Vanderbilt University on Friday evening.
With the loss, Bellarmine moves to 0-6 to start the spring season while the win improves Vanderbilt to a 4-1 start to the year.
Vanderbilt clinched both the singles and doubles portions of the match in quick fashion. On the doubles side, the Knights fell on courts two and three, both by a score of 6-2. In the No. 1 doubles match, the duo of
Yeva Kramarova and
Ekaterina Tikhonko were tied with their opponent 4-4 when the match was called do the point being won by Vandy.
In singles, the Commodores got wins at the first three courts to clinch the match 4-0.
Up next, Bellarmine will play at home for the first time this season, hosting the University of the Cumberland and Marian University (Ind.) on Saturday, February 1 at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
