LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University cross country will conclude the regular season Friday morning at the Angel Mounds Invitational in Evansville, Indiana.
Co-hosted by the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville, the meet will take place at Angel Mounds State Historic Site. The 8k men's race will begin at 10 a.m. ET (9 CT) and the 6k women's race will start at 10:50 a.m. ET (9:50 CT).
In addition to Bellarmine, Southern Indiana and Evansville, the field is expected to include Austin Peay, Brescia, Central State, Cincinnati, Eastern Kentucky, IU Indianapolis, Lipscomb, Morehead State, Murray State, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Missouri, SIU Edwardsville, Southern Illinois, Tennessee Tech, Transylvania, UT Martin, Vincennes and Western Kentucky.
Bellarmine is competing for the third straight season in the Angel Mounds Invitational. The Knights men are the two-time defending champions of the meet, placing first of 19 teams in 2023 and first of 16 in 2024. BU's women placed fifth of 15 in 2023 and ninth of 16 last season.
This is the final tune-up before the ASUN Championship, which is slated for Oct. 31 at Cecil Field in Jacksonville, Florida. The Knights will be competing in the ASUN conference meet for the sixth time since entering Division I.
Bellarmine is coming off the Oct. 4 Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. Redshirt junior
Alex Hooten posted a men's all-time top 10 mark in the 8k for the second consecutive race, with his 24:10.0 ranking seventh in program history and hoisting him up to fourth on the 8k performance list. He finished in the top 93 percentile of the estimable 300-plus field after placing 23rd.

Sierra Oesterling clocked a women's all-time top 40 in the 5k at the Swags Louisville Classic, with her 18:18.9 ranking 36th in program history. She placed in the top third (98th) of the field.
