PEORIA, Ill. — The shorthanded Bellarmine University women's basketball team fell 67-38 to Bradley on Sunday at the Renaissance Coliseum.

Ava Smith tallied 10 points apiece for Bellarmine (2-4), which began the contest with only eight healthy players and finished with seven after yet another injury was sustained in the first half.
Four different players scored in double figures for Bradley (3-2), which never trailed. Claire McDougall and Maya Foz notched 15 points apiece for the Braves, with McDougall recording a double-double after pulling down 11 rebounds.
Both offenses struggled in the first half, but Bradley took a 27-13 lead into halftime. The Braves posted 40 points after the break when the Knights were further depleted by injury.
Bellarmine will compete Friday-Sunday in the Louisville MTE. The Knights open play at 4:30 p.m. (ET) Friday against East Tennessee State at the KFC Yum! Center.
