LOUISVILLE, Ky. – In its return to the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex on Friday morning, Bellarmine women's tennis fell 6-1 to Murray State.
In doubles,
Yeva Kramarova and
Ekaterina Tikhonko tallied a 6-2 win over Veleria Chaikovskaia and Bruna Melato on court one. The Racers however would go on to win the remaining two doubles matches to secure the point. On court three,
Nikola Kollaritsch and
Marika Caruk nearly pulled out a second win for Bellarmine to earn the doubles point, but the pair narrowly fell to their opponents 7-6 (7-2).
Murray State claimed five wins in singles, winning courts one to five. In No. 6 singles,
Reese Parker rallied from a first set defeat to win defeat Barbora Hermanova 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-2). Parker's victory was the only point the Knights tallied on the day.
Up next, Bellarmine will open its Atlantic Sun schedule with a road trip to DeLand, Fl. on March 1st to face off against Stetson.
