Harrison scores game-high 19 in loss to ASUN leader FGCU

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Senior guard Hayley Harrison registered a game-high 19 points, but FGCU remained undefeated in Atlantic Sun Conference play with a 74-57 victory over the Bellarmine University women's basketball team Thursday evening in Knights Hall.

Senior forward Skylar Treadwell approached a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds for Bellarmine (14-10, 5-6 ASUN) while junior guard Miyah Brown was in the vicinity as well with nine points and seven rebounds.

Emani Jefferson tallied 17 points in leading four double-figure scorers for FGCU (20-3, 11-0), which ran its winning streak to 13 games. The Eagles knocked down 10 3-pointers led by the four triples of Alahna Paige.

FGCU never trailed but Bellarmine was within 22-18 after the first quarter and within 30-29 roughly midway through the second. The Eagles hit a trio of 3-pointers in a 9-0 run that helped lift them to a 44-33 advantage at halftime.

Bellarmine was within eight with a little less than four minutes remaining in the third quarter but got no closer thereafter as FGCU pulled away for good.

Bellarmine will close a season-long four-game homestand by welcoming Stetson in an ASUN contest at 2 p.m. (ET) Saturday.
