LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine women's tennis ended its weekend with a 5-2 loss to in-state, Atlantic Sun foe Eastern Kentucky on Saturday morning at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
With the loss, the Knights move to 3-16 overall and 1-6 in ASUN play.
Bellarmine got off on the right foot in doubles.
Vendula Kryslova and Resse Parker got the first win of the day on court two, winning 6-0. On court one,
Yeva Kramarova and
Ekaterina Tikhonko secured the doubles point for the Knights with a 6-4 victory. BU's third pair of Marila Caruk and
Shu Grosso held a 5-4 lead before the match was abandoned with the point clinched.
Moving into singles play, Eastern Kentucky shifted the momentum in its favor. The Colonels earned wins on courts two, one and six to take a 3-1 lead in the match.
Lillie Willis halted the EKU run at No. 5 singles, defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-3.
From there, EKU would go on to take wins on the final two courts, three and four, to clinch the match and leave with a 5-2 victory.
Up next, Bellarmine will play its final home match of the season on Wednesday, April 2, hosting Austin Peay at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
