MUNCIE, Ind. — Ball State defeated the Bellarmine University baseball team 14-1 on Tuesday in a midweek game at Shebek Stadium.
Ball State (20-10) earned its 20th win of the season after amassing 15 hits. The Cardinals scored nine of their runs in a decisive third inning against the Knights (6-22).
Bellarmine was limited to two hits, with freshman
Landon Akers and senior
Jacob Rowold collecting one each. Akers led off the game with a double and scored on a sacrifice fly by senior
Casey Sorg, but that was the extent of the Knights' scoring.
Sophomore left-hander
Carson Brower allowed only one run while striking out three in 3.0 innings of relief.
Bellarmine will host North Alabama in an ASUN series Friday-Sunday, with game times set for 3 p.m., 3 p.m. and 2 p.m.
