LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Lipscomb didn't have an explosive inning but consistently plated runs en route to an 11-4 win over the Bellarmine University baseball team Saturday at Knights Field in the second game of an Atlantic Sun Conference series.
Lipscomb (24-25, 16-10 ASUN) evened the series against Bellarmine (13-37, 8-18) after the Knights captured the opener 11-9. The Bisons scored at least one run in seven of the nine innings, including four two-run frames, while half their 12 hits went for extra bases, two of which were homers.
Lipscomb limited Bellarmine to six hits, with two apiece coming from freshman
Landon Akers and junior
Eli Watson. Watson forced in a run with a bases-loaded walk in the first to get the Knights on the board.
Akers doubled in the fifth and scored on an RBI single by senior
Casey Sorg. Akers had an RBI single in the sixth, with senior
Seth Sweet-Chick adding a sacrifice fly in the frame.
The series finale is set for 1 p.m. (ET) Sunday.
