LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Matt Lindsey has joined the Bellarmine University lacrosse staff as an assistant coach, head coach Andrew Whitley announced today.

A native of Louisville, Lindsey will be working closely with the faceoff unit and running the substitution box during games.

"I'm very excited to welcome Matt to our program," said Whitley. "He has a tremendous knowledge of the game and faceoff position, in particular, and will be an excellent addition to our staff."

Lindsey comes to the Highlands from Division II North Greenville University in South Carolina where he spent the 2024 and 2025 seasons as a graduate assistant. There, he helped the Trailblazers to the 8th-most faceoff wins in Division II over his two seasons and a 57-percent faceoff win percentage during his time, contributing to back-to-back double-digit win seasons and one NCAA tournament appearance.

"Thank you to Coach Whitley and the staff for welcoming me into the Bellarmine family. I am so excited for this opportunity and to be a part of the program," Lindsey said.

Lindsey also previously served as head coach of Madeira High School in Cincinnati for the 2023 season, helping the Mustangs to the second-most wins in school history. He first gained coaching experience as an assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Archbishop McNicholas High School in Cincinnati in 2022.

A graduate of Male High School, Lindsey played club lacrosse at the University of Cincinnati, where he spent a year interning in the compliance office and earned his bachelor's degree in sports administration. He also holds a master's degree in organizational leadership from North Greenville.
