Men's tennis has strong showing at EKU's DI Showdown

RICHMOND, Ky. – Bellarmine men's tennis continued its fall tournament schedule over the past weekend with a trip to Eastern Kentucky University for the DI Showdown where the Knights faced off against the Colonels and University of Tennessee Chattanooga across two days of competition.

The event featured both singles and doubles action between the three teams. Bellarmine sent three doubles team out in Colby Berson and Vineet Ramesh, Matthew Nice and Ryan Parkins and Sebastian Baumann and Diego Martinez. Each duo recorded one win on the weekend in three matches.

In singles, all five of the six men played three matches with Martinez logging just two bouts, going 1-1 on the weekend. Baumann and Berson, both freshmen, registered two wins each in there three matches, tying for the team lead in wins with senior Vineet Ramesh who also notched two singles wins in the event. Nice rounded out the group with one singles victory.

Up next, Bellarmine will participate in the ITA Regionals Tournament in West Lafayette, IN at Purdue University.
