Women's basketball drops road outing at Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. — Central Arkansas defeated the Bellarmine University women's basketball team 85-29 on Thursday night in Atlantic Sun Conference play at the Farris Center.

The ASUN Tournament runner-up the last two seasons, Central Arkansas (9-6, 2-1) unloaded 46 3-point attempts and hit 17 of them. Three different Sugar Bears knocked down four triples, including Shae Littleford and Cheyanne Kemp, who tied for game-high honors with 17 points apiece.

Sophomore forward Kayce Hyman led injury-plagued Bellarmine (2-14, 0-3 ASUN) with eight points while freshman center Haya Abdel Aal and redshirt junior forward Andrea Chiquemba pulled down eight rebounds each. Abdel Aal also had a pair of blocks.

Freshman guard Olivia Pifer, a field hockey player who recently became a multi-sport athlete at Bellarmine after also joining the women's basketball team, made her collegiate debut and scored her first college point on a free throw.

Bellarmine will play at 3 p.m. ET (2 CT) Saturday at North Alabama.
