LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Bellarmine University men's basketball team will continue its season-opening road stretch Thursday when the Knights travel to Bloomington, Indiana, for a 6 p.m. (ET) matchup against the Hoosiers at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The contest will be streamed on Peacock.

Bellarmine (0-1) and Indiana (1-0) are meeting for the first time in regular-season competition. The programs have faced each other three times in exhibition play, with the Hoosiers winning all three contests.

The Knights officially opened the 2026-27 campaign Monday night at No. 24 Vanderbilt, falling 93-47 at Memorial Gymnasium. Freshman guard DeMarcus Surratt led Bellarmine with nine points in his collegiate debut, shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field. Bellarmine found more offensive rhythm after halftime against the Commodores, shooting 45.5% from the floor and 33.3% from 3-point range while scoring 30 second-half points. The Knights will look to build on that offensive improvement while limiting turnovers after committing 23 in the season opener.

Indiana opened its season Monday with a 91-57 home victory over Eastern Illinois. The Hoosiers were led by fourth-year guard Markus Burton, who scored a game-high 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting, including a perfect 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.The Hoosiers showcased their depth in the season opener, with nine players scoring at least five points. Indiana shot 50% from the field and 37.5% from 3-point range while outrebounding Eastern Illinois 34-26. Defensively, the Hoosiers forced 22 turnovers and converted those miscues into 29 points. Indiana is led by head coach Darian DeVries, who is in his second season at the helm of the program.

Thursday's matchup marks the second of three consecutive road games to begin the season for Bellarmine. Following the trip to Bloomington, the Knights will head to Oxford, Ohio, for a Saturday matchup against Miami (Ohio) before returning to Louisville for their home opener against Franklin College on Nov. 11.
