LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine softball, coming off short rest from its trip to Chattanooga over the weekend, will make the easy journey to the University of Louisville for a midweek game tomorrow, February 18 at Ulmer Stadium.
The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm E.T and will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live stats available online.
Bellarmine notched its first win in the
Whitney Arion, a former four-year standout at Louisville, era over the weekend, defeating Middle Tennessee 5-4 on February 13. Overall, the Knights went 1-3 in the Chattanooga Challenge with their fifth game being canceled due to inclement weather. Through the first two weeks of play Bellarmine is 1-8.
Freshman
Tia Ice continued her impressive start to her collegiate career over the weekend, hitting .462 (6-for-13) across the four games, recording a double, home run, five RBI and two runs. She leads the team in hitting (.419), hits (13) and RBI (10) and is tied for the team lead in home runs (2) and total extra-base hits (4). Behind her, five other Knights are hitting over .300 with sophomore
Peyton Arnold leading the group at .345. Arnold is also second on the team with 10 total hits and ties for second with two doubles and seven RBI. Senior
Jacklyn Zuege is hitting .321 on the season while leading the team with three doubles and one triple while ranking tied for second with seven RBI as well.
As a team, the Knights are showing huge improvements offensively this season and are hitting .302 as a unit, nearly .100 points higher than last year's team average of .209. In addition, Bellarmine has already scored 40 runs this year after scoring 92 all last season and have recorded six homers, half of the team's 13 in 2025.

Louisville is off to a 6-3 start to its season and enters Tuesday's contest on a two-game win streak. The Cardinals were tabbed to finish 10
th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in the preseason Coaches' Poll after a 10
th place finish and 26-25, 9-15 ACC record in 2025. Louisville's offense features four players hitting over .400 to start the season and is led by junior Camryn Lookadoo with a .455 average. Lookadoo has 10 total hits on the season with four doubles, three RBI, eight runs and a stolen base. Behind her, senior Bri Despines is hitting .435 with 10 hits, four doubles, a home run, nine RBI, five runs and six stolen bases. Fellow senior Chelsea Mack leads the team with 12 total hits while ranking third with a .414 batting average. Sophomore Madison Pickens rounds out the group hitting .400 with 10 total hits, a double, three triples, a homer, nine RBI, eight runs and two stolen bases. As a team, Louisville is hitting .308 and has scored 66 runs with 23 extra-base hits. In the circle, junior Brooke Gray and senior Alyssa Zabala head off the starting duties with three starts each. Gray owns a team-best 1.35 ERA while Zabala owns a 1.62 ERA. The pair have recorded two wins each. As a team, the Cardinals own a 2.79 ERA and 1.44 WHIP with 34 strikeouts to 23 walks.
Series History
Bellarmine and Louisville have met three times since the Knights rose to Division I in 2020. Since then, Louisville owns a 3-0 advantage in the series and won the last meeting 10-0 (5 innings) on February 26, 2024.
