Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CHATTANOOGA, Tn. – Bellarmine softball dropped both contests on the second day of the Chattanooga Challenge, falling 3-2 to Canisius and 6-1 to Middle Tennessee on Saturday at Frost Stadium.

The Knights got on the board first in game one, scoring a run on an RBI double off the bat of freshman Tia Ice.

Canisius finally answered in the top of the fourth, scoring two runs, one on a ground out and one on a fielder's choice, to jump ahead 2-1.

Bellarmine responded one inning later, tying the game in the fifth after senior Jacklyn Zuege ripped a leadoff triple. Freshman Jayla Manning followed with a sac bunt to bring her home and tie the score at 2-2.

In the sixth, the Golden Griffins broke the stalemate with an RBI single to go up 3-2.

From there, Bellarmine was unable to get another run across, falling 3-2. Junior Kendall Gaddie led the offense with an impressive 3-for-3 day at the plate.

In game two, Middle Tennessee struck first, putting a run on the board, thanks to an RBI single, to go up 1-0.

The Knights evened the score in the third, thanks to another clutch at-bat from Manning as she brought home a run with an RBI single.

From there, it was all Middle Tennessee as the Blue Raiders went on to score five more runs across the next three innings before going on to win 6-1.

Up next, Bellarmine will close out the weekend at the Chattanooga Challenge with a final game on Sunday, February 15 against Ohio.
