LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Georgia State clinched the series against the Bellarmine University baseball team with a 9-3 win Saturday night at Coolray Field.
The Panthers (5-2) have taken the first two of the three-game series against Bellarmine (2-4). GSU amassed 14 hits and rode a seven-run third inning to the win.
Bellarmine collected six hits. Senior third baseman
Luke Scales had an RBI double in the first. The Knights' other two runs came in the seventh on an RBI single by senior right fielder
Eli Watson and a sacrifice fly by senior infielder
Sawyer Pace.
Junior left-hander
Carson Brower tossed 3.0 scoreless innings of relief. He allowed a single hit, struck out one and didn't walk anybody.
The series finale is set for 1 p.m. (ET) Sunday at Coolray Field.
