Hyman equals career high as Knights conclude regular season with loss at EKU

RICHMOND, Ky. — Sophomore forward Kayce Hyman matched a career high with 19 points as the Bellarmine University women's basketball team concluded the regular season with a 100-43 loss Friday to Eastern Kentucky in Atlantic Sun Conference play at Baptist Health Arena.

The two highest-scoring outputs of Hyman's career have come this season against ASUN regular-season champion EKU (24-7, 15-3 ASUN), as she also scored 19 points in the teams' first meeting this year in Louisville.

Sophomore guard Ava Smith added 11 points and seven rebounds for injury-plagued Bellarmine (2-29, 0-18).

Five different players scored in double figures for Eastern Kentucky, led by 18 from Liz Freihofer. The Colonels knocked down 14 3-pointers and had 31 offensive rebounds.

Bellarmine will be the 12-seed and face the 5-seed (TBD) in the first round of the ASUN Tournament, which begins Tuesday in Jacksonville.
