LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine Wrestling returns to Knights Hall this weekend for its longest Southern Conference home stretch of the year, hosting Campbell on Friday, February 6 and Gardner-Webb on Sunday, February 8.
The Knights will open their home weekend on Friday night, welcoming Campbell to Knights Hall, for the first time in two years, at 7 pm E.T. Then, on Sunday, Bellarmine will take on Gardner-Webb at 2 pm E.T. while celebrating Military Appreciation Day.
Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+ with live results also available on FloWrestling.
Bellarmine suffered its first SoCon loss of the season in its last time out, falling 30-6 at Appalachian State. Before the loss, the Knights ripped off four consecutive wins and held a share of first place in the league with a 3-0 record. Against the Mountaineers, redshirt sophomores
AJ Rallo and
Noah Hall earned the lone wins for the Knights, improving to 4-0 in SoCon action. Hall (165) got the Knights on the board with his 10-5 decision over Anthony Conetta while Rallo (141) earned a gritty 4-1 victory in SV-1 over Aldo Hernandez in the second to last bout of the night.
Campbell is 2-16 this season and 1-3 in conference matches. The Fighting Campbells have dropped 12 straight matches with their last win coming on November 15 against Presbyterian. In its last match against App State, Campbell put up a better fight than the Knights, falling 29-12. In other common completed duals, Campbell fell to Northern Illinois 53-0 while BU topped the Huskies 23-13 while Central Michigan defeated both Campbell and Bellarmine 33-6 and 28-6, respectively. Both the Camels and Knights took down Presbyterian 21-19 and 50-3, respectively. In the five previous meetings between Bellarmine and Campbell, the Camels have won all five. Last season was the closest the Knights have come to overcoming Campbell, falling 29-10 in Buies Creek on January 24, 2025.
Garnder-Webb is 4-10 overall and 1-2 in the SoCon this season. The Runnin' Bulldogs have lost two in a row, with their most recent win coming over Campbell (25-17) on January 23. That win snapped a six-match losing streaking for Gardner-Webb, where their last win had been on November 15 against Air Force (20-18). Gardner-Webb has faced off against three common Bellarmine opponents thus far, falling to Kent State 20-14 and Davidson 24-21. The Knights also fell to Kent State (18-16) but defeated Davidson 38-3. Bellarmine and Gardner-Webb have met five times in series history with GWU holding a narrow 3-2 edge. The Knights however have won the last two meetings, defeating the Runnin' Bulldogs 23-12 last season in Boiling Springs and 23-15 in 2024 in Knights Hall.
