Women's tennis comes up short at Bowling Green

Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Oh. – Bellarmine women's tennis opened its three-match road trip with a tough 4-3 loss at Bowling Green on Friday afternoon.

The Knights were hot out of the gate, securing the doubles point with wins on courts one and two. The dynamic duo of senior Vendula Kryslova and sophomore Reese Parker made quick work of Bowling Green's Libby Blair and Leticia Fonseca, winning 6-2 on court one. Bowling Green claimed the win on court three to get even in doubles play but, freshman Gracie Hurley and junior Lillie Willis shut the door on the thought with a 6-4 victory on court two.

In singles, the Falcons turned the tide winning each of the first three matches on courts one, two and three, jumping ahead 3-1 in the dual.

Parker kept Bellarmine alive with her win on court win, rallying from a 2-6 loss in the opening set to claim the next two sets 6-4, 6-1 for the victory.

Junior Nikola Kollaritsch evened the match at 3-3 with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court six, but Bowling Green was able to snuff out the BU comeback, taking the final match for a 4-3 win.

Up next, Bellarmine will travel to Starkville, MS for a two-match day at Mississippi State, taking on the host Bulldogs as well as Louisiana Tech.
