LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine men's basketball continues its postseason run in the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship tomorrow, March 6, taking on the No. 1 seed Central Arkansas Bears at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

Bellarmine (13-18, 7-11 ASUN) opened the ASUN Championship with a thrilling, 82-79 victory over Jacksonville in the first round. Yesterday's win was the Knights' first in the postseason since a 76-74 victory over North Florida in the first round of the 2023 ASUN Championship.

Brian Waddell turned in an efficient 15-point performance on 5-of-8 shooting while collecting a team-high seven boards. Sophomore
Tyler Doyle added 14 points and game-high seven assists while redshirt sophomore
Kenyon Goodin rounded out the group with 11 points, hitting three of his five three-point attempts.
As a team, the Knights shot .519 from the field and made 9-of-20 three-point attempts (.450). One of the most effective shooting teams in the country, Bellarmine had to rely on its defense against Jacksonville, and the Knights got the job done, not allowing the Dolphins to score in the final 3:53 seconds to secure the win.
Central Arkansas earned the No. 1 seed in the tournament after a 20-11 regular season with a 15-3 record in ASUN play. The Bears won each of their final two games to clinch a share of the regular season title with Austin Peay and claim the top seed. Central Arkansas is led by recently appointed ASUN Player of the Year, Camren Hunter. The senior, who was named First Team All-ASUN, is averaging 19.7 points per game, adding 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game. Hunter is shooting .499 from the field this season and is effective from beyond the arc at a .346 clip. Freshman Ty Robinson is also an integral cog in the Bears system. Robinson earned Second Team All-ASUN and All-ASUN Freshman Team honors this season after posting 14.3 points per game, adding 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists to his line.
Bellarmine and Central Arkansas met twice during the regular season, splitting the series 1-1. The Knights took the first meeting in Conway, 84-78 in overtime, before dropping the rematch in Louisville 84-76. Overall, Bellarmine owns a 5-3 advantage over UCA, winning each of the first three games before alternating the last five.
