RICHMOND, Ky. – The Bellarmine University women's golf team wrapped its regular season schedule at the Colonel Classic this week, placing eighth in the ten-team field at University Club at Arlington.
The Knights had two players finish in the top 25 in senior
Piper Davis and sophomore
Abigayle Buchanan, who both finished tied for 25
th at +23 in the event. The duo also turned in the lowest score of the tournament for Bellarmine, each carding a five-over par 77 (Davis – round two; Buchanan – round three).
Buchanan finished the event tied for eighth in the field of 63 players with six birdies in three rounds.
As a team, Bellarmine was tied for third with 21 total birdies and tied for fourth in team scoring average on Par 5s with a 5.23 (+14). Overall, the Knights came in eighth at +108.
Youngstown State claimed the team championship at +56, one shot better than host Eastern Kentucky, who placed second at +57.
YSU's Neeranuch Prajunpanich won the individual medalist honors with a five-over par showing while EKU's Claira Ramsey Eden finished second at six-over par.
