JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Bellarmine's AJ Swader has been named the ASUN Conference Player of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.
The Murfreesboro, Tennessee native turned in a dominant week at the plate for the Knights, going 9-for-14 (.615) overall, including an 8-for-13 performance in Bellarmine's conference series sweep of Eastern Kentucky. Swader tallied two doubles, two home runs and drove in 10 runs while posting a 1.231 slugging percentage.
A graduate student, Swader has been a key contributor in the Knights' lineup this season, currently leading the team with 16 doubles and nine home runs while batting .379. He also leads the ASUN in batting average and RBI.
Swader earns his first ASUN Player of the Week honor of the season and becomes the first Knight to win a weekly award this season.
