FLORENCE, Al. – The Bellarmine University softball team opened the final week of regular season play with a pair of losses at North Alabama, falling 9-0 in game one and 4-0 in game two at Hilda B. Anderson Stadium.
Bellarmine (12-37, 5-18) battled for the first four innings of game one before the North Alabama offense exploded to end the game via mercy rule.
The Lions scored the first run of the game in the opening inning before adding a second run in the fourth. In the fifth, the Lions exploded, putting up seven runs, capped off by a two-run walk off home run to push the lead to 9-0 and enact the mercy rule.

In game two, the first four innings went by without much action as a second pitcher's duel was in progress.
