JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Senior
Alex Cole earned a bronze medal in the men's discus as Bellarmine University track and field competed on the second day of the ASUN Outdoor Championships.
Cole's toss of 46.11m was good for third place Friday at the University of North Florida's Hodges Stadium. It was the second straight season in which he claimed a bronze in the event.
Cole secured six points while sophomore
Will Bracher tallied three after placing sixth with a throw of 43.39m.
Junior
Amelia Svidal earned three points in the women's long jump after placing seventh (5.75m).
Junior
Aubrey Lane earned a trip to the women's 800m finals after being the runner-up in the prelims in 2:11.66.
On the men's side in prelim action, senior
Jackson Gordon qualified for the finals in the 400m (fifth, 48.12), as did sophomore
Grant King in the 100m (eighth, 10.70) and senior
Zander Hooten (seventh, 14.44), freshman
Taevion Sweeney (eighth, 14.72) and junior
Carter Olmsted (ninth, 14.75) in the 110m hurdles.
The conference meet will conclude Saturday.
