JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Bellarmine University's Ella Flynn was recognized as the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week for women's soccer, the league announced Monday.

A defensive midfielder and true freshman, Flynn stepped into a pressure-packed situation and delivered Friday night at high-major Indiana, burying a penalty kick in the final minute that sent the Knights to a 1-1 draw with the Hoosiers.

Flynn saw 85 minutes of action and helped a tremendous defensive effort that yielded a single goal off a PK. The Hoosiers managed only five shots on goal.
