JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Anna Jenkins on Monday became the Bellarmine University women's soccer team's first-ever recipient of an Atlantic Sun Conference preseason superlative award when the redshirt sophomore was named ASUN Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.

Junior midfielder Brynn Severance joined Jenkins on the 12-member Preseason All-ASUN Team. Bellarmine boasted two members on that team for the second straight year, comprising all four honorees from the Division-I era.

Jenkins was a high-impact transfer from Marquette University last season. The native of Plainfield, Illinois, garnered ASUN All-Freshman Team and ASUN All-Tournament Team plaudits while twice being recognized as the ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week. She posted a 10-6-3 record with a 1.16 goals-against average, .814 save percentage, 96 total saves and six shutouts. Jenkins recorded five saves or more in nine games, including nine against Graphite Division champion FGCU in a 3-1 victory in the ASUN Tournament quarterfinals.

As a sophomore last season, Severance was acknowledged as third-team All-ASUN. The product of Strongsville, Ohio, started all 20 games while tallying two goals and one assist and ranking second on the team in minutes (1,740). A box-to-box midfielder, she netted the team's first goal in the aforementioned win over FGCU in the ASUN Tournament and registered an assist on the game-winning goal in a 2-1 regular-season win over Gold Division champion Lipscomb.

In the superlative award categories alongside Jenkins, Jacksonville's Paula Herranz swept the ASUN Preseason Player and Defensive Player of the Year accolades.
