EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Bellarmine University cross country opened the 2026 season Friday night in the four-team Stegemoller Screagle Twilight hosted by Southern Indiana.
Bellarmine had a top 10 finisher on the men's side in sophomore
Jared Fairbanks, who placed seventh while clocking an 18:32.7 in the 6k race. The Knights had a second runner in the top 15 in junior
Salah Farah, who took 11th in 18:41.4.
Freshman
Henry Kiser (23rd, 19:15.3), junior
Jack Ballard (24th, 19:21.2) and junior
Ben Hunter (25th, 19:21.7) rounded out the men's top 5.
In her Bellarmine debut, graduate student
Kynzlei Bassett led the Knights women in the 4k race after placing 17th in 14:46.2. The next three finishers were also making their respective BU debuts in freshman
Anniston Sewell (28th, 15:16.7), graduate student
Camille Ludwig (32nd, 15:40.4) and freshman
Gianna Ferreri (34th, 15:43.3). Junior
Shaianne Overall (39th, 16:16.1) capped the women's top 5.
Southern Indiana swept the team spots with 20 on the men's side and 26 on the women's. Bellarmine finished third (69) in men's action and the Knights women were fourth (97).
