Patrick Reilingh joined the Bellarmine University men's basketball team's staff as an assistant coach in August 2024.
A native of Pleasantville, N.Y., and graduate of and former staffer at the University of Louisville, Reilingh (pronounced "RYE-ling") joins the Knights from The Citadel, where he served as an assistant coach under Ed Conroy for two seasons. At The Citadel, Reilingh was responsible for formulating game plans, recruiting and evaluating high school and transfer prospects, overseeing student-athletes' academic progress and scheduling non-conference opponents.
Reilingh is linked to the coaching trees of several prominent names including Rick Pitino, Richard Pitino and 18-year NBA veteran Jerry Stackhouse.
Prior to The Citadel, Reilingh served as video coordinator on Stackhouse's staff at Vanderbilt during the 2021-22 season. There, he was responsible for organizing team and opponent film, scouting assistance and producing recruiting content. He was also previously recruiting coordinator under the younger Pitino at Minnesota from 2019 to 2021, helping bring in student-athletes such as Isaiah Ihnen, Treyton Thompson and Jamal Mashburn, Jr.
Reilingh earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees in sports administration at UofL. He served as a student manager on the elder Pitino's teams from 2013 to 2016. He continued at Louisville as assistant video coordinator for the 2016-17 season and was promoted to director of video operations under interim head coach David Padgett for the 2017-18 season.
Reilingh spent the 2018-19 season as a video coordinator at La Salle between his stints at Louisville and Minnesota.
