Bellarmine University Athletics

Doug Zade joined the Bellarmine men's tennis staff as a graduate assistant in August 2026. A Grosse Pointe Shores, Michigan, native, Zade previously competed at Michigan State, where he joined the program as a recruited walk-on and quickly made an impact. During his freshman season in 2011-12, Zade earned the team's Most Improved Player Award after breaking into the starting lineup. He posted a 6-2 singles record and eight doubles victories while helping the Spartans make the first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.

Zade was part of a historic 12-match doubles winning streak at the No. 3 position, a run that played a key role in Michigan State's historic postseason berth. A three-time captain and letterwinner at Grosse Pointe North High School, he was a conference and district individual champion before arriving at Michigan State.

Off the court, Zade was an Academic All-Big Ten honoree and graduated from Michigan State with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science, with a Human Capital and Society cognate.
