2026-27 WBB Head Shots

Laura Terry

Laura Terry reunited with former University of Louisville teammate Monique Reid on the Bellarmine University women’s coaching staff as an assistant prior to the 2026-27 season.

A native of Ironton, Ohio, Terry played three years of collegiate basketball at Louisville, where she competed alongside Reid and was a member of the 2009 team that went to the national championship game. She played in 64 games with the Cardinals and started in eight of those contests. She ultimately finished her career as a 52-percent shooter from the field before injuries shortened her tenure. At that point, Terry remained with the Cardinals as a student assistant for the next two seasons.

Terry followed by serving as a graduate assistant at Western Kentucky University for two years through 2014. She was a key component in WKU’s quick turnaround during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons that saw WKU become the first team in Sun Belt Conference history to win 20 games in consecutive seasons after winning less than 10 in the previous season. The Hilltoppers also claimed a Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship and appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008 during Terry’s second season at WKU.

Terry served as an assistant coach at Weber State University in 2014-15. While there, she primarily worked with post players including Jalen Carpenter, who led the team in scoring and rebounding. Another post player, Zakiyyah Shahid-Martin, was nominated for the NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year. Terry followed by serving as an assistant coach at Texas State in 2015-16.

Terry attended Rose Hill High School and earned second-team All-State honors during her junior and senior seasons. She also helped Rose Hill become the smallest school to reach the KHSAA Sweet 16 Championship Game during her junior year and led the squad to another state tournament appearance as a senior.

Terry earned a degree from Louisville with a double major in Health and Human Performance and Physical Education.
