Morgan Stroman was hired as an assistant coach of the Bellarmine University women’s basketball team in August of 2022.
Stroman arrived at Bellarmine after working on the staff at the University of Miami, her alma mater, since 2019. She served as an operations assistant for one season before being elevated to assistant director of operations in November of 2020.
Stroman had a standout career at Miami that spanned from 2009-13. A 6-foot-1 forward, she earned first-team All-ACC honors as a senior after being a third-team selection as a sophomore. Stroman also garnered All-ACC Defensive Team accolades as a senior.
Stroman amassed 1,371 points over her career while averaging 11.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Upon her hiring at Bellarmine, she ranked fifth in program history in career rebounds (886), sixth in free throws made (403), eighth in steals (272) and ninth in blocks (100). Over her four years, the Hurricanes earned three NCAA Tournament berths and were the 2010 ACC regular-season co-champions in addition to delivering four 20-win seasons and posting a 97-36 record.
Following her accomplished collegiate career, Stroman spent six years playing professionally overseas with clubs in Spain, Finland, the Netherlands and Romania before returning to Miami’s program as a staff member.
Stroman is a native of Hopkins, South Carolina, and played high school basketball at Lower Richland, which she helped lead to four straight state championships. She was named McDonald’s All-American, Parade All-American Third-Team, South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, EA Sports All-American, The State Newspaper Basketball All-Area Player of the Year, South Carolina Coaches Association 3A Player of the Year and South Carolina Hall of Fame Amateur Athlete of the Year.
Stroman earned a bachelor's degree in sports administration from Miami in 2013.
